"Antipodes"
is a beautifully built 5 person sub with unusually large
hemispherical 58" Diameter viewports both bow and stern.
Each viewport has a 46" wide seat for two and the pilot
can move about with the handheld remote control. She is
perfect for reef exploration at 23' and equally comfortable as
deep as 923'. The vectored thrusters make her very easy to
control as precisely as a helicopter. She is classed by the
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for both private use and
passengers for hire. Equipment includes a mechanical arm for
picking up those gold bars laying around next to the rare and
beautiful sea shells. The ABS surveyor that joined us for our
923' certification dive pronounced it as the most comfortable,
best laid out small sub he had ever been in. Hoffmann Yacht
sales has been involved with this sub since 1988 when we owned
it. We did major modifications and upgrades in 1997 when we
sold it to a 150' Yacht owner, after a few years we arranged
its sale to the present owners who used it in the deep Fiords
of New Zealands South Island, and we have again been engaged
to find it a new home.
